A place you never want to leave
We arrived late in the evening and Kostas was waiting for us with a bottle of local wine and a fruit basket — that set the tone for our whole stay. The peace and quiet up here is unreal. Every morning we had coffee on the balcony watching the sea change color. Kathisma Beach is a short walk downhill, and we discovered the hidden Milos Beach thanks to Kostas's tips. Already planning our return next summer.
Best sunsets we've ever seen
The balcony view alone is worth the trip. We watched the sun drop into the Ionian Sea every single evening — it never got old. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the kitchen has everything you need for cooking, and Kostas is the most caring host. He recommended a tiny taverna in Agios Nikitas that became our favorite dinner spot. This is Lefkada at its most authentic.
Perfect for families with kids
We traveled with two small children and were worried about finding somewhere suitable. We shouldn't have been. The garden is safe and spacious, Kostas set up extra beds without any fuss, and Kathisma Beach has shallow water perfect for toddlers. Free parking was a huge plus since we rented a car to explore Porto Katsiki and Egremni. Incredible value — we paid a fraction of what hotels charge in Nidri.
Like staying with a Greek friend
Forget sterile hotel rooms — this is how you experience Lefkada. Kostas treated us like family. He showed us a walking path to Kathisma that has the most incredible viewpoint halfway down. The room was simple but had everything: clean bathroom, fridge, balcony with the view you see in the photos (it's even better in person). Agios Nikitas village is a 15-minute walk for dinner. We've been to many Greek islands but this corner of Lefkada is special.
Authentic Lefkada hospitality
Even though I'm Greek and have visited Lefkada many times, La Casa D' Irene surprised me with its warmth and attention to detail. The air conditioning works perfectly, the balcony view is the most beautiful scene I've shown my friends back home, and Kostas treated us like family. I'll be back next summer.
Quiet, clean, and a fantastic host
Exactly what we were looking for — a peaceful guesthouse far from the tourist crowds of Nydri. The rooms are spotlessly clean, the AC kept us comfortable through August, and Kostas speaks excellent German. The walk down to Kathisma Beach is an experience in itself. We will recommend this place without hesitation.
